In order to ensure the growth of the Bank’s investment opportunities and cultivation of positive image of Kazakhstan special emphasis is placed on development of cooperation with international financial organizations.
The Bank strives to learn and apply the practice of other successfully operating development institutions by participating in various associations, interacting with international institutions, constant upgrade of qualification, participation in various conferences and seminars.
Expansion of business cooperation of the Bank alongside with cooperation with large financial institutions gives opportunity to attract foreign investors in the country for the purpose of prompt solution of economy diversification matters.
Since the date of founding the Bank has entered into a range of memorandums and agreements with such organizations as Vnesheconombank if Russia, Korea Development Bank, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, Islam Development Bank, Japanese Bank of International Cooperation, Cinese Development Bank, Turkish Development Bank, Merrill Lynch, ABN AMRO, UBS, Bank of America, Export-import Bank of the US, the World Bank, HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad, Export-import Bank of Turkey, European Investment Bank, Deutsche Bank, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Export-import Bank of Malaysia, BNP Paribas, Export-import Bank of Korea, COFACE Export-Credit Agency, etc.
2016. On August 24, 2016, during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Poland, “Development Bank of Kazakhstan” JSC signed a Framework Agreement on Cooperation with Government Bank of Poland “Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego” aimed at strengthening and extension of trade and economic relations between Kazakhstan and Poland, attracting investments promoting the development of long-term cooperation, growth in exports of Kazakhstan and Polish goods and services. This Framework Agreement provides for implementation of joint projects to the amount of up to EUR 300 mln.
2016. DBK’s subsidiary – DBK-Leasing JSC started the long-term leasing financing (up to 10 years) of the project for delivery of tank wagons to arrange railway cargo transportation of Istcomtrans LLP. Transaction at the amount of over KZT 1.1 bln became the first project financed by DBK-Leasing on conditions of Islamic leasing – “Ijara”. Funding resources to arrange this transaction are facilities attracted by the Bank in 2012 in the course of debut issuance of Islamic bonds Sukuk among CIS issuers.
2015. DBK entered into Framework Agreement for Insurance Coverage at the amount of $400 mln with China Expor&Credit Insurance.
2015. DBK has reached an agreement with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) on bringing the loan up to $ 37 290 0000. SMBC Loan maturing up to 7 years, will be used for DBK general corporate purposes, including funding or replacing the financing sources of the Bank’s investment projects.
2015. DBK became a member of the Loan Market Association. This step has been taken within the introduction of syndicated Bank financing of investment projects.
2014. DBK has entered into Framework Agreement on long-term funding with HSBC Bank plc. Under the agreement, HSBC Bank plc Bank opens a credit line at the total amount of Euro 500 mln covered by export credit agencies of various countries.
2014. DBK signed an Agreement of Intent with Russian State Specialized Export-Import Bank CJSC. The parties have come to agreement to develop strategic partnerships in various areas, including through financial support of export-import transactions between companies of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
2013. DThe Banker has awarded Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (DBK, Development Bank of Kazakhstan) in the category “Transaction of the Year – 2013.
2013. DBK was awarded one of the largest credit rating agencies in Asia, RAM Ratings within its issuance at the Malaysian market with the release of Islamic bonds Sukuk Al-Murabaha.
Since 2005 the Bank is a full member of the Interbank Association (IA) of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
In the period from October 2007 to October 2008 the Bank was a Chairman of IA SCO. In 2010 the Bank was elected the second time as a Chairman of IA for the term from October 2010 to October 2011.
2003 - 2011 the Bank is a member of Association of Development of Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), DBK is a member of the Board of Directors.
Awards from international finance organizations are evidence of successful international activity of the Bank. In 2005 Euromoney International Finance Publication awarded “The Most Dynamic Bank in the World” nomination. In 2006 Euromoney Finance Publication recognized the Bank as a winner in the “Leading Bank in the Field of Corporate Governance in Central and Eastern Europe” nomination. Moreover, projects of the Bank recognized by ADFIAP as the best projects in transport and energy infrastructure, communication and technology areas.
